Out-of-zone enrolments for 2025

The School Board will make a decision in late August or early September 2024 how many out-of-zone places will be available (if any) for 2025, and for which year levels. This information will be published here and in the school newsletter.

Ballot application will be available after the year groups are announced. 
Application closing date: Tuesday 15/10/24
Ballot date: Wednesday 23/10/24 

Out-of-Zone Ballot Process

Children living outside the school zone can make an out-of-zone application, with places for out-of-zone children being allotted by way of a ballot.  The Board of Trustees decide each August how many places will be available (if any).  They take into account existing and projected rolls as it is preferred to have two classes at each year level to avoid composite classes e.g. mixed year groups.

The Board will publish this information by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school and on the school website.  The notice will indicate how applications are to be made and will specify a date by which all applications must be received.

Applicants are accepted in this order:

  1. first priority must be given to any applicant who is accepted for enrolment in a special programme run by the school
  2. second priority must be given to any applicant who is the sibling of a current student of the school
  3. third priority must be given to any student who is the sibling of a former student of the school
  4. fourth priority must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school
  5. fifth priority must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the board of the school or a child of a member of the board of the school
  6. sixth priority must be given to all other applicants.

If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth, or fifth priority groups  than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary of Education under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989.   Parents will be informed of the date of any ballot by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.


Applicants seeking second or third priority status may be required to give proof of a sibling relationship.
